A lot of the time, when I’m getting my kids to play or the weather is nice, I want to have a lot of fun with my kids. It’s a fun hobby. But it’s also a bad habit. So you should not be the only one who can play outside. It is a bad habit to be able to do that. But if you do, then you also have to stop yourself from doing certain things. Like eating unhealthy food. It is unhealthy. And your kids should not be eating it. Instead, they should be learning about nutrition and healthy eating.
I often hear people say this, “I don’t like it when my kid eats junk food.” Sure I do. But the truth is that parents do not own the decision on what their kids eat. The kids do. If your kids are eating junk food, there are probably some reasons for it. But if you want your kids to be healthy, you have to stop them from it.
When you’re a parent and you think your kids are eating healthfully, just start by asking them what they’d like to eat. If they don’t want to eat it, tell them they can’t and you’ll be happy to serve them healthier food. This might be as simple as telling them that it’s not good for them to eat junk food and offer them something healthier.

One of the biggest mistakes parents make is to tell their kids they can have whatever they like. That’s one thing they often forget to tell their kids: If you don’t like it, don’t eat it.
The other big misconception is that we can control our children’s eating habits. I’m not talking about the food we buy, but more about the food we eat. It’s very easy to get parents to tell their kids that they should eat healthily. But they are often wrong. If you ask a kid what they want to be when they grow up they are unlikely to say “A swimmer” or “A dentist”.
That’s why one of the best things you can do for your child is to talk to them about what they like and don’t like. If you want your kids to eat healthfully, talk to them about what they like, and what they don’t like. It doesn’t have to be fancy food, but it can be healthy food; what you offer your kids now is what they’ll be eating for the rest of their lives.
No matter what you do, you can always ask them a few questions. If they have questions, they can respond with questions. It’s the only way to ask them questions if you want to know what they think.
